How Leadsler Guides are made

What a guide is for
Every guide is written for one job a reader is trying to get done — fill the advent calendar we already own, carve a pumpkin that lasts until Halloween night — and for the two or three decisions that job involves. It leads with the answer: sizes, times, quantities and dates with units, in lists and tables, before anything else. History, where it is interesting, is a short note at the end.
How a guide is made
- Research. The facts come from named sources: Wikipedia for background and, for the practical and safety facts, authoritative pages — consumer-product-safety agencies, fire services, health services, food-safety agencies, university extension services, standards bodies. Every fact is checked against the sentence in the source it cites.
- Outline and draft. We write the guide from that research, in our own words. It may not add a number or a date that is not in a source.
- Suggestions are labelled. Practical advice from common practice — how thick to scrape, in which order to glue — is marked Our suggestion. Sourced facts are cited inline; suggestions are ours and are not presented as facts.
- Checks. Before anyone sees it, the text passes automated checks: sourced numbers backed in context, history under 15 % and never first, specifics present, no health claims or superlatives, no copied passages, no clichés, a FAQ that adds something.
- A person reads it. Nothing is published without a person reading the whole guide and approving it. The date under the title is the last time the text changed.

How we earn, and how we say so
Our guides contain affiliate links to Amazon: if you buy through one, Leadsler may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Products are sold by Amazon and its sellers, not by us. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. Each product card names the item type, the one thing to look for and when to skip it; the link goes to Amazon openly (no hidden redirects). We never buy through our own links, and we do not write prices or reviews. The full policy is on the disclosure page.
